Córdoba is a city located near the geographical center of Argentina, in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas mountains on the Suquía River, about 700 km west-northwest from Buenos Aires. It is the capital of Córdoba province, and the second industrial center of Argentina, but retains many of its historical buildings dating from the colonial era. El Centro (Spanish for "downtown") is the most important commercial area, with clothes, food, hardware, fishing equipment, shoes, computer shops, etc., as well as the most important banks like Bank of Córdoba and other private banking institutions. There's also a variety of restaurants with varying food and prices, from Italian pasta or "asado" barbecue. Sightseeing places include San Martín square, Jesuit Block and Genaro Perez Museum. Main avenues and streets are Vélez Sarsfield, Colón Avenue, General Paz, Dean Funes and 27 de Abril where most buses have a bus-stop.
Nueva Córdoba is the largest district in the area. It is home to shopping malls like Patio Olmos, big buildings, pubs, disco clubs, squares, restaurants, supermarkets and other entertainment and commercial centres. This district includes very important buildings from large companies like Motorola and Intel. An important cultural place is Palacio Ferreyra, located at the corner of Hipólito Yrigoyen and Chacabuco. Nueva Cordoba has a number of important avenues like Yrigoyen and Velez Sarsfield. On this neighborhood most of the university students of this growing city live. Also, several buildings are being built, transforming this area and top-level neighbourhoods like General Paz in the fastest-growing areas of the city.
SPANISH SCHOOL
Placement test
To make sure that your Spanish language program is of the highest level there will be a written test in order to assess your knowledge of Spanish, after which the director of studies will conduct a 30 minute oral Spanish level test so as to be certain about your level of spoken Spanish.
Course duration
Each of our Spanish courses in Argentina begins on Monday in every week. The minimum period for a group course is one week. However, we recommend that you take a minimum of 2 weeks so that you give yourself time to appreciate the advances you make in the language. The average length of a course is between 4 and 6 weeks.
Spanish class size
Spanish classes are structured in such a way that there can be no more than 5 students in each one. This helps to greatly accelerate daily progress and learning of the Spanish language, since it allows the teachers to effectively monitor each student, giving assistance where the student needs it most.
Certificates
At the end of your course you have the opportunity to take a final exam so that you can see the progress you have made and you will be presented with a certificate of the corresponding level and a progress report from your teacher which will outline your development in the course and the steps you can take in order to improve further. Student personal information, length of the course, level of spanish and the number of hours you were present in class will be included in our Certificate.
